The COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed the phrase "life as we know it." It has made many companies scale back - but scaling back doesn't mean this time cannot also be valuable for your business.
For many businesses - big and small - this is a scary time. The not knowing when things are going to go back to normal, the fear of the disease itself and the uncertainty about the future of your business, plus a million other things are on everyone's minds right now.
One ray of sunshine during this nerve-wracking time is that it is actually a great opportunity for you to work on your business. When things do go back to "normal," you will likely begin receiving a lot more business and new opportunities, so now is the perfect time to do a lot of behind the scenes work on your company.
Obviously depending on the industry you're in, there are several different things you can be focusing on during this time, but I want to specifically talk about what you can be doing graphic design-wise.
The everyday work you put into your business always takes priority, so things like updating branding or creating new materials often get put on the back burner or at the bottom of a to-do list. So if you have any materials that need updated, this time is ideal for updating it. If you've been playing with the idea of rebranding - do it! If you need new marketing collateral, a refresh on your website or even a whole new way of delivering information to your customers, take advantage of this slower time to get it done. Even if it's just brainstorming and making a plan to create materials in the future, now is a great time to do it.
Don't wait until you're overwhelmed with business when this pandemic is over - work on the behind the scenes aspects of your business now. And when we are all able to operate normally again, you'll be able to dive back in to business with freshly updated materials.
